What to Expect:
The charming and peaceful land of Argolida hides, within its depths, one of the most important civilizations ever to grace history: Mycenae. This ancient culture dominated mainland Greece, the Aegean islands, and the shores of Asia Minor during the Late Bronze Age (circa 1600-1100 BCE). The Mycenaean Era marks the culmination of the Helladic Civilization, which flourished in mainland Greece as early as 3000 BCE.
Located 24 km from Nafplio, the archaeological site offers a fascinating glimpse into this early European civilization. During the tour, we will visit the iconic Lion Gate, Burial Circle A, and the Museum of Mycenae, exploring the geographical and historical context of this era. You will also hear the captivating story of the Atreides, the mythical royal family of Mycenae.
The experience continues with a drama-based group activity. We will:
- Play the group-circle game “Erinyes”.
- Visit the Tomb of Clytemnestra.
- Improvise a theatrical performance centered on the idea of an ancient Mycenaean market, imagining interactions between Mycenaeans, Minoans, Egyptians, and Hittites in the Late Bronze Age. Expect trade, storytelling, and fun!

Epidaurus Guided Tour & Group Drama Performance
What to expect: The Theatre of Epidaurus is preserved almost intact to our day, with minor restorations, it still hosts theatrical performances. It was built in the beginning of the 3rd c. BCE. The Theatre is famous for its perfect acoustics where even the slightest sound like the dropping of a pin, or a heavy breath can be heard clearly by spectators in the top rows of seats. The archaeological site is located 27km away from Nafplio. Our educational program consists of a guided tour of the Archaeological site of Epidaurus (including the Theatre and the sanctuary of Asclepius—the god of medicine) and a drama game. An experiential approach for students, kids and families with one hour guided tour and almost an hour of activities: ice breaking games, warm-ups, group dynamics and drama improvisation all inspired and themed about the origin of Greek ancient drama, Asclepius and the way cure and art were connected.
